After a lesson on the Patronus Spell, Padma begins to spread rumors about Hermione. As a result, she turns against Harry, who scares her by pretending to be the ghost of Salazar Slytherin. In chapter 70, Padma, along with Hermione, Susan Bones, Parvati, Tracey Davis, Daphne Greengrass, Lavender Brown, Hannah Abbott and several other students and professors, appears at a rally near Dumbledore's office, where Hermione proclaims the Society for Promoting Heroic Equality for Witches. Together with her friends, she fights with a Slytherin bully and gets several minor injuries. Padma is not present during the battle with the three bullies-scary students-Hermione sends her for Professor Flitwick. She witnesses Harry's massacre of bullies, which later puts an end to the existence of the Society for the Promotion of Heroic Equality for Witches. In chapter 103, she attends Professor Quirrell's surprise exam and passes it at least "Acceptably". During Harry's battle with Voldemort, Padma, most likely, like the whole of Hogwarts, was at the final Quidditch match. Later, she comforts Draco when he finds out about his father's death.
